AR GlassFiber Solution in concrete adds high mechanical properties and flexibility to the light-weight final glassfiber reinforced concrete (GRC). Common glassfiber shows low resistance against alkali attack of cement. On the contrary, alkali resistant (AR) glassfiber is produced from a specially formulated glass composition to be resistant for use in reinforced concrete and other mortar. In addition to primary reinforcement and alkali resistance, AR GlassFiber Solution donate other values to the GRC.

AR GlassFiber Solution Key Highlights

The use of AR GlassFiber Solution for GRC provides adaptability of shape, color and texture in architecture especially for complex shapes and building facades. While having alkali resistance, our AR GlassFiber Solution has excellent acid resistance at high levels. So, the use of them as a GRC component make it anti-corrosive especially in acid etching process. In addition of etching, the surface finish of GRC can be easily sand blasted, or polished.

DOSAS AR GlassFiber products are manufactured in compliance with ASTM C1666/C 1666/M-07 and EN 15422 and under the recommendations of Precast Concrete Institute (PCI) and The International Glassfiber Reinforced Concrete Association (GRCA). The alkali resistance of AR glass fibers is a result of adding an anti-corrosive chemical to the glass and melting the blend followed by fiberization.
