DosPex™ LCM Suspending Agent

Innovative spacer creates an impermeable barrier on the face of the formation through differential pressure to mitigate lost circulation

DosPex™ LCM Spacer System

Spacer System with Wellbore Shielding Technology (WBS)

DosPex™ LCM  is a unique technology that achieves the two primary spacer functions – separating the drilling fluid from the cement slurry and assisting in removing the drilling fluid from the wellbore – and also performs three additional functions:

  • DosPex™ LCM, the spacer system with WBS technology allows the cement to be circulated in situations where the increase in equivalent circulating density during cement placement in the annular space causes induced losses in systems without the WBS technology.
  • DosPex™ LCM, the spacer with WBS technology can mitigate existing losses allowing the service company to pump heavier cement than they would otherwise and improve the chances of achieving a quality cement job.
  • DosPex™ LCM, the spacer with WBS technology mitigate fluid loss to the formation that can lead to gas migration problems.

Performance Highlight

DosPex™ LCM Successfully Blocked the Sand Bed without Blowing Out

A 5-in. production casing was cemented due to the low fracture gradient at the bottom of the formation, the in-house hydraulic simulator predicted losses during the displacement of the cement. DOSAS recommended using 40 bbl of the DosPex™ LCM spacer system at 12.0 ppg, 35 bbl of conventional lead slurry at 13.5 ppg, and 167 bbl of gas-tight tail slurry at 16.4 ppg. Considering these fluids densities and a displacement rate of 4 bpm, the in-house simulator calculated losses during the last 25 bbl of the displacement from a total of 315 bbl.

DosPex™ LCM suspending Agent Commercial Graph
  • Thermal Stability

DosPex™ LCM  spacer system is thermally stable, The gelling agent used in this spacer system is stable above 300 °F, and up to 400 °F with a gel stabilizer.

  • Rheological Profile & Viscosifying Solution

DosPex™ LCM spacer system has a good rheological profile and is effective in viscosifying aqueous solutions.

  • Lost Circulation Control

DosPex™ LCM is effective in sealing a 200-D sand bed under 100 psi differential pressure.
