DosFL™ is a high molecular weight polymer and pseudoplastic in aqueous solutions. Its molecule can easily be hydrolyzed and reduces hydraulic friction of the slurry and minimizes water loss to the formation and act as free water as well as gas migration control agent in cementing operations. It can also thicken, suspend, bind, emulsify, form films, stabilize, disperse without lump and provide protective colloid action. It can be used to prepare solutions with a wide range of viscosities.
DosFL™ is typically used at a concentration of 0.4 to 3.0% by weight of cement (BWOC), densities ranging from 16.0 to 11.0 lbm/gal, and temperatures ranging from 27 to 110 °C BHCT to achieve a fluid loss of less than 100 ml/30 minute.
Performance Highlight
DosFL™ VIS Rheology Modifier and Fluid Loss Prevention Additive
The DosFL™ VIS Fluid loss control agent was performed for a 5 ½-in. casing in a horizontal well in South Texas. The BHST is 125 °C and BHCT is 110 °C. In addition to prevent fluid loss of cement slurry to the formation, the DosFL™ VIS helps surface viscosity. The API calculated fluid loss of the slurry design was less than 50 cc in 30 minutes.
