DosPex™ ONE Multifunctional Cement Spacer Additive
DosPex™ ONE Spacer multifunctional additive can fully replace at least 3 different additives (suspending agent, dispersant, fluid loss control additive, and retarder) to achieve the desired performances when BHCT is above 100 °C.
The innovative spacer design concept uses a multifunctional additive, surfactant package, and a mutual solvent to prevent foaming, enhance performance, and impart compatibility and water-wetting capacity with non-aqueous-based drilling fluids.
Performance Highlight
DosPex™ ONE Designed a Single-Stage Cement Job
The DosPex™ ONE spacer system saved rig time by generating a single-stage cement job in Abu Dhabi, where offsets required a multistage cementation process. In one well, static losses of 81 bbl/min and 120 bbl/min dynamic losses were measured before cementing. Drilling fluid pills did not cure losses below 65 bbl/min static losses and 100 bbl/min dynamic losses. Using the DosPex™ ONE spacer system stopped losses and allowed cement returns to the surface.

DosPex™ ONE is flexible in its design to obtain a density and rheological profile that is intermediate between the drilling fluid and the cement slurry.
Spacer Effect on Cement Set
DosPex™ ONE is flexible to design not accelerate or excessively retard the cement set.
Spacer System Formulation
DosPex™ ONE was formulated/screened by following API testing protocol for rheology (API RP 10B-2), wellbore fluid compatibility, fluid loss control, and settling stability.
